Since retiring as a full-time NASCAR driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr. has embraced a diverse set of roles, including podcast host, team owner, sports analyst, and entrepreneur. At the heart of his post-racing career, though, is his commitment to philanthropy.
Through The Dale Jr. Foundation, which he leads with his wife, Amy, Earnhardt has channeled millions of dollars to worthy causes.
This year, the foundation’s signature event – the annual charity glove auction – once again brought together fans and drivers for a good cause. With gloves from top NASCAR names up for grabs, the auction not only captured attention but also set a new fundraising milestone. Here’s how it all unfolded.
The Dale Jr. Foundation’s Driven to Give Glove auction launched in 2015 with Earnhardt’s own race-worn gloves. Over time, the event expanded to include gloves from dozens of Cup and Xfinity Series drivers.
This year, 70 competitors participated in the auction, including marquee names such as Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch, Kyle Larson, Joey Logano, Ryan Blaney, and Brad Keselowski.
The auction, which ran from June 26 to 30, featured a starting bid of $30 for every pair of gloves. Several drivers, including Blaney of Team Penske, promoted their gloves on social media to encourage higher bids. Berry, driving for Wood Brothers Racing, also used his platforms to raise awareness for the cause.
When the auction closed, motorsports journalist Joseph Srigley shared the results, revealing that Berry’s gloves from the Quaker State 400 had fetched the highest bid at $5,512.
Earnhardt’s own gloves came in second, with a top bid of $3,150. Justin Allgaier, Chase Briscoe, and Kyle Busch rounded out the top five, with bids of $2,625, $2,625, and $2,541, respectively.

The auction raised a total of $60,478 for The Dale Jr. Foundation, with all proceeds going to support Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
In addition to the glove auction, the foundation recently raised $505,000 through its “Win Dale Jr.’s Ride” raffle. These initiatives highlight the foundation’s ongoing commitment to making a difference.
Berry and Earnhardt have maintained a strong connection for more than 15 years. Earnhardt has mentored Berry since his early days in iRacing, and the two have developed a close friendship. Their relationship has been a topic of conversation in the NASCAR community, and both have spoken openly about the positive impact they’ve had on each other.
